(scene) unidentified man is walking on 4 lane highway going west, sky is gray, cloudy and warm. man is asian, messy black hair with dusty grays. wearing black skinny jeans a black t-shirt, a military style canvas back pack with chest strap as well. wearing khaki canvas palladium high-top boots. black retro sunglasses.

(narrator - unidentified man's thoughts) Whenever I watched movies when I was younger I never understood the post-apocaltpyic movies - if they knew what they knew now, it wouldve been different in all capacities. for one, there isnt any action, i spend the majority of my day foraging for food, living day by day having nothing for the future, trying to find shelter and avoid most other scanvengers like myself. its too dangerous to risk exposing myself, people are no longer people, we are animals.

another thing I would tell those hollywood blokes would be to add some realism to the highways... in the movies either the highway is empty or cars are scattered too and fro on the highway with accidents galore. But the truth is that it happened so fast that nobody could do a thing. all the cars are lined up perfectly in a row on the highway bumper to bumper like everyone just got out of their car at hte same time. it's morose, it looks like one huge snake that rises and falls down hills, one huge rainbow of metallic yellows, blues, blacks, reds. It's quite stunning I must admit, even though it's been 3 years, I still am surprised that I get to enjoy things out of life, even if they are the ominous and scary.

it's funny, there's an expression i remember growing up - probably from a movie, because let's face it, when your a 25 year old man living in the 21st century your education is going to be from movies. anyways, as i recall the expression was "you aren't the sum of your actions"... i never agreed with that until, well most recently. in my last life i was your typical grade-A office boy. My job typically consisted of photocopying files for executives, running annual reports - or weekly reports on whatever trend they were looking to waste time on this week. If based upon my past life - my existence and my ability to survive for the past 3 years in this future would be unexplained. hell maybe it is. but i believe that we are who we want to be, the ambitions and our ability to perceive the world is what defines us.

(man stops walking and approaches an 18 wheeler truck, steps up using the passenger side step and peaks into the cab, keys are in the ignition still. man attempts to open passenger side door but door is locked, scuttles down and walks to driver side door, unlocked... "yessss!" - takes key ring and walks back to the rear of the 18wheeler. First attempt with one of the keys on the ring unlocks the deadbolt lock on the back of the doors, slides it open. man walks into the lightly lit trailer and sees something in the blackness "beautiful, this will work..."
